De Zeekraal in Oosterend is an organic sheep farm where all year round the flock grazes outdoors in herb-rich pastures. Their milk is used to make delicious cheeses and ice cream and is added to their own brand of hand cream.
Whether you’re 8 or 88, a visit to De Zeekraal is fun for everyone. You can look around at the mouth-watering produce in the shop - the most popular item is the salty sheep’s cheese with glasswort - eat an ice cream in the garden or join Gerben as he milks his sheep at around 4pm. He is happy to tell you all about his life as a sheep farmer and everything it involves. If you don’t have time for a visit, you can purchase their products at Lokaal.
Nice to know!
De Zeekraal works a lot with other farms. For instance, neighbouring Groenhof supplies cranberries and strawberries (you can pick also your own) and they have developed a special cheese, Zilte Duinen with Gerard and Marion Cupido’s dairy cow milk.
